Primary Sales

Primary market sales are the initial sales from creators or galleries to collectors. This is where new editions are minted and sold for the first time.

When setting up a primary sale, you should choose:

  • Sales Mechanics — How you sell: auctions, fixed-price editions, dutch auctions, decreasing supply, and more.
  • Release Types — What you sell: generative, edition, unique 1/1, artist-curated, or collector-curated.
  • Which contract to use:
    • Standard — Verse deploys an ERC-721 contract for you. Metadata is stored on IPFS.
    • On-chain — Metadata is stored both on IPFS and on-chain for permanence.
    • Custom — Bring your own contract and handle the full contract logic yourself.
